Adult Education Classes in Southwest Louisiana

The Literacy Council provides Adult Education Programs in multiple locations across Southwest Louisiana.  Currently, classes are available in Lake Charles, Sulphur, Jennings, DeRidder and Grand Lake.  Online education programs are also available.

Allen Parish
Adult Education classes are offered at the SOWELA Oakdale Instructional Site.

Beauregard Parish
Adult education classes are currently offered through the Education Link at the 1st Street School.

Calcasieu Parish
Lake Charles classes are offered at SOWELA and the Central School.  Daytime classes meet as early as 8am Monday to Thursday.

Evening classes meet from 5pm to 8pm Monday to Wednesday.  Students are assigned to classes based on availability.

Cameron Parish
Classes are held in Grand Lake at the Cameron Community Action Agency site (near the fire department).

The schedule is Monday – Thursday from 9:00am to noon and Tuesday & Wednesday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
